We are thrilled to have with us today one of my favorite authors, Leanna Sain. Leanna has written a number of novels- including her latest romantic suspense novel, Wish. Leanna’s books have won numerous
awards, including her novel, Gate to Nowhere, which won the 2012 Clark Cox Historical Fiction Award by the North Carolina Society of Historians. Leanna, thank you so much for joining us today! I’m excited to be here! Your latest novel, Wish, has been on the market for almost a year now. Can you give our readers a short description of Wish? On December 12, 2012 at exactly twelve minutes after noon, any wish made at the Believe-Meter at Macy’s in New York City will come true. At the appointed time, we find our heroine, Maddie McGuire, ready to make her wish: to see her father once more. There’s just one problem. He’s been dead for two years. When Maddie discovers a list of names and dates from her dad’s safe-deposit box, she finds out her mother died of something more than cancer and her father’s “suicide” seems suspicious as well. It’s up to Maddie to figure out what happened. When you’re writing, Leanna, who is in control? You or the characters? I like to think I’m in control, but I’m just kidding myself. Seriously…I LOVE it when the characters decide they don’t want to take orders from me anymore and head down a path I never even considered. That’s when magic happens, and it’s a heady feeling. I just hang on for the ride! Why do you write? Because I can’t stop. I’ve always loved to write…mostly poetry and short stories. When my sons were little, I wrote and illustrated story books for them, but I never dreamed I had a novel in me. Then I saw the gate, the “story seed” resulting in my first three novels. After that, it was like a bottle had been uncorked; stories keep glugging out. I can’t stop them, and there’s no end in sight, so stay tuned! Leanna Sain has been writing since she was a little girl. She lives in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina near Hendersonville, where she writes romantic suspense novels. In addition to writing and painting freelance portraits, she co-owns Heartland Amish Furniture with her husband. Leanna has had four books published, and has completed three additional romantic suspense novels. Leanna’s latest novel, Wish, was published by Miracle Hill publishing on August 27, 2013 and is available at Amazon.com.
